TOO MUCH FOR YOU? RIGHT FOR ME

By Ceirra Whig

For a long time, I felt like I stood out too much. People around me dressed safe minimal, proper, nothing too loud. I’d show up in something bold or styled my own
way and hear, “Why are you so overdressed?” But honestly, I’ve never seen that as a bad thing. I’d rather be overdressed than underdressed. I’d rather show up fully than hold myself back to fit in.

Style, for me, has never been about following trends. It’s about how I feel in my clothes. Western fashion speaks to me clean shapes, edgy layers, sneakers,
denim, jackets that add just the right amount of drama. When I wear something that feels like me, I walk differently. I speak with more confidence. I feel ready.
Some days, it’s as simple as a relaxed pair of jeans and a kurta. Other days, it’s a statement piece that shifts my whole mood. Either way, it’s never just about
how it looks, it’s about how it makes me feel. That’s what personal style really is.

Over time, I’ve realized you don’t need a designer label to feel powerful. You don’t need to dress like everyone else to belong. Sometimes, the best pieces are the
most reasonable. Sometimes, it’s how you put something together that makes it special. My style comes from trying, experimenting, messing up, and figuring out what feels right for me.

Even though I wear Western outfits, I haven’t forgotten my roots. There’s pride in where I come from. I love mixing things up, wearing boots with a kurti or styling
silver jewelry with a modern outfit. It’s that mix of comfort, culture, and creativity that makes style exciting for me.

In the end, it’s not about being fashionable, it’s about being real. My clothes don’t just cover me, they speak for me. They say I’m confident, expressive, and
unafraid to take up space. And that’s exactly how I want to show up in the world.
